The reporting desk
Send us a tip. You don't have to tell us who you are.
This form goes to the reporting desk of ADOTAT, The Arizona Inquirer, The New Mexico Inquirer and The Hate Record. No name required. No account. No email address.
How anonymous is this?
We don't ask who you are, and we add no trackers, analytics or outside fonts to this page. It is honest to tell you the limits, though. The form is hosted by Netlify, which, like any website host, can see technical details such as your IP address. If that matters to you:
- Use a personal phone or computer, not a work one, on a network that isn't your employer's.
- For more cover, use Tor Browser or a trusted VPN.
- Strip hidden details from files. A screenshot of a document carries less than the original file.
- Don't tell coworkers you sent something. That is how most sources get found.
What happens to your tip
Every tip is read by a person. Hargreaves Ledger, our automated reporter, logs it and checks what it can against public records: filings, court dockets, campaign finance reports. Pesach Lattin, our publisher, decides what we pursue. A tip is a lead, never a story by itself, and we confirm before we publish.
We protect our sources. We don't reveal who sent us anything, and we don't confirm or deny who our sources are, to anyone. If you leave a way to reach you, someone may get in touch. A person approves every message before it is sent.
Hate tips for The Hate Record: send links and screenshots of what was posted publicly. We don't publish home addresses, family details or anything about minors, and we don't go after people for their opinions alone.
Rather use email?
Write to tips@adot.at, ideally from a personal address that isn't your real name. To reach a human directly: Pesach Lattin, 505-932-9060.
